Outfit of the Week: Sugar and Spice

Sugar: Floral Top.  Spice:  Leatherette Skirt.  Still dreaming about this ensemble that I put together during Independence Day.  I've had this skirt since April but just couldn't figure out what to pair it with.  I'm such a sucker for anything and everything leather, so when I saw this in the racks, I knew I just had to have it.  It was marked down at 60% off too!  What a great steal!  Monki is such a great brand.  It's not your typical clothing store.  Notice their clothing is quite eccentric, something out of the norm but just as awesome.  See my other Monki outfit posts here and here.  Oh how I wish Monki would open a store here soon so that I don't have to fly out every time I get a Monki craving!

Outfit of the Week: Shirtdress Dressing

Shirtdresses are the most versatile pieces that you can own in your closet!  Yes, that is a statement and I hereby declare it to be true.  LOL.  Huge plus:  it's easy to dress it up or down, and it's definitely one of the no brainer outfits.  Put it on and you're good to go!  Going to my first statement, how versatile, you ask?  For a more casual look, you can opt to wear the shirtdress on its own.  But for a more polished look, dress it up with a belt (like what I did below).  You can also wear them opened with shorts and a tank top, or use them as a beach coverup.  Seriously, there's a million things you can do with them, and I cannot put into words how much I looooove them.  I'm sure my closet will agree too because I have them in all sorts of material, prints and cuts!  So next time you're at a loss for something to wear, why not go for a shirtdress?  Here's to hoping you love them as much as I do!

Outfit of the Week: Hilight-er

Remember this post?  I finally got the chance to take these babies out for a spin!  Was at a loss at first because I really couldn't figure out what outfit to pair up with the wedge sneakers, so when I saw this top in Bleach Catastrophe, my mind went ding-ding-ding!  The entire outfit looks a bit too monochromatic so I added a pop of color with the bag.  How does it look?  A little bit rock and roll don't you think?  And soooo not me LOL.  But I wanted to try new stuff every now and then.  You know, veer away from the norm.  So there you go :)
