Outfit of the Week: Cutouts and Chains

Call it a force of habit, but one of my go-to "uniforms" is a cute top and skinny jeans.  My brother once remarked that I wear nothing but top and jeans, but I beg to differ.  There are about a billion (ok, maybe I'm a wee bit exaggerating) kinds of tops and about a hundred types of jeans.  So when you mix and match, you can always come up with a new look!  Fell in love with this top when I first saw it online.  It wasn't available locally then so I went ahead and had it shipped here in Manila.  I guess patience is virtue because a few weeks after, I saw it in our local Forever 21 stores!  So those who like my top, lucky you!  Why?   Because not only can you get it locally, but it is also available in a floral print!

Ok going back to my outfit, when wearing plain tops, I can never stop stressing the importance of accessorizing.  The more, the merrier.  The bigger, the better!  Always remember that accessories make or break the outfit, so don't be afraid to experiment.  It's a good thing I chanced upon this huge chain necklace at Crossings just the day before - it definitely brightens up the look, don't you think?

So how do you like my outfit?  Would love to hear your thoughts.  Sound off at the comments section please! :)

Outfit of the Week: It's That Shirtdress... Again.

Remember how much I raved about shirtdresses on this post?  Well, here's another version of it!  For a polished look, the best way to do it is to belt a shirtdress.  But there are days when you just want to wear it as is and not feel constrained.  Tip:  When choosing a shirtdress, make sure it's a bit loose.  You don't want buttons popping or your flesh showing when you sit down.  The one I have on here is waaaay loose, but that's how I like it!  What to do so that it doesn't look like you just threw on your pajamas?  Simple, accessorize, accessorize, accessorize!  A simple necklace and a bracelet would surely do the trick; heck, it could even make you look party-ready!  All you have to do is work it, baby!  I have a couple more of these sitting in my closet, so do expect more of these shirtdress posts because I really, really am in love with them!

Outfit of the Week: Shimmer Party

LOL.  Contrary to the title, I did not wear this to a party.  Just the opposite, I wore this to a day spent in Sta. Rosa where Hubby and I shopped, ate, and had a massage.  In short, a day of rest and relaxation.  And no, I had no idea why I wore such a sparkly outfit for a chill out day.  Haha!  Guess I woke up and just felt the need to dress up, so voila!  Added the necklace to break the monochromatic color of the outfit.  I chanced upon this Forever 21 pearl necklace on sale, and you know what they say (or at least, that's what my best friend JC and I say)... When it's on sale, you're supposed to grab and go!

Outfit of the Week: Cold Shoulder

Summer is here!  And somehow cutout tops/dresses are starting to sprout.  Could it be because it's sooooo hot?  If you're like me who is afraid of the heat, then these cutouts are for you!  Think of it as an air conditioning for your shoulders.  Believe me, with this kind of heat, we need all the air we can get!  Agree?  Plus points:  it's comfy, breezy, and fashionable too!  And what girl doesn't like that, right?

Outfit of the Week: Drink Wine, Don't Whine

Wore this outfit for Chinese New Year last week.  I wanted to veer away from the norm and not don the usual red so I went with this wine colored dress.  Don't you just love how flowy my dress is?  Sometimes I can't resist twirling around and just let the skirt do its wonder.  It's not very visible in this picture but I'm also wearing one of my favorite pair of sandals from Call It Spring.  The T-strap of the sandals are laden with a jumble of tiny little coins and it makes the tinkling sound when I walk around.  For good luck!  Right?  And yes, I finally brought out the Céline trio!  To those who are curious, this bag can pack quite a number of things.  I had 2 phones, towel, tissues, phone charger, coin purse, credit card holder, and long wallet, and it fits all that!  Talk about small but incredible!
