Outfit of the Week: Rainbow Leopard

Here's what I wore to the VIP opening of SM Aura at the Fort.  With the media/bloggers all buzzing about the opening, who doesn't know about it, right?  Wasn't actually planning on going, but last minute changes to my schedule allowed me to do so and boy, was I glad I went!  Why?  Three words:  Sarah Jessica Parker!!!  Yes, I finally got a glimpse of the woman behind the Sex and the City fame (confession:  I still can't get over the fact that SATC has already ended so now I started watching The Carrie Diaries and got hooked!).

Anyway, on to my outfit!  Had a few errands that day so I didn't want to get all dressed up, but I wanted to look like I made an effort.  So what to do?  I went for the rock-chic look.  These pair of Jeffrey Campbells have been sitting in my shoe closet for the longest time and was I ever glad I brought them out to the opening!  Why?  Because there were soooooo many people vying for a chance to see SJP and I wouldn't be able to see her if I'm in flats!  Got to shop a bit too! (My poor, poor wallet)  Oh what a memorable day that was.

So has anyone here shopped or window shopped at SM Aura yet?  If not, then let me tell you that it's one of the chicest SM Malls I've been to.  DO check them out!

Outfit of the Week: Cut It Out!

I'm back!  Did anyone miss me?  Sorry for being AWOL for a while, was dealing with personal problems and had to fix that before I come back to the blogging world.  Anyway... enough of that, and on to my outfit!  I actually wore this last Mother's Day for a lunch out with the family.  I wanted something breezy (it's just too damn hot in our country right now!) and luckily, cutout top/dresses are "in" this season!  I call this my sophisticated look.  LOL.  Did I pull it off?  Let me know!

Outfit of the Week: Gentleman

My outfit for this week is inspired by PSY's "Gentleman".  Have you guys seen the music video yet?  That song has been on constant playback on my phone last weekend and I still have LSS (last song syndrome) right now!  Ah, the power of PSY.  Actually, I've been obsessed with the harem pants for a while back now.  This pair I'm wearing has actually been sitting in my closet for quite some time; I just haven't found a creative way of wearing them without looking too sloppy.  The failure of finding something interesting and blog-worthy made me search farther into my closet and voila!  I found my harem pants!  And just in time too, since I've watched the "Gentleman" video one too many times.  Besides, I've been wearing too much girly stuff lately so I think it's about time I go a little bit out of my comfort zone.  So how do you like my outfit?  Did I pull it off?  Would like your opinion!  Sound off at the comments please :)

Outfit of the Week: Cold Shoulder

Summer is here!  And somehow cutout tops/dresses are starting to sprout.  Could it be because it's sooooo hot?  If you're like me who is afraid of the heat, then these cutouts are for you!  Think of it as an air conditioning for your shoulders.  Believe me, with this kind of heat, we need all the air we can get!  Agree?  Plus points:  it's comfy, breezy, and fashionable too!  And what girl doesn't like that, right?

Outfit of the Week: Florals and more

This is what I wore to battle the crowds on the first opening day of American Eagle Outfitters.  I figured I wanted something a bit stylish but comfy as well.  I knew I'd do the rounds in the fitting room, so something that can easily slip on and off is ideal, hence, this outfit.  The top is something I got from Topshop ages ago.  It remains to be one of my favorite pieces to date, and I know I'm still going to be wearing this years from now.   I love the fact that the top alone makes up the whole outfit.  Notice that I just added a few basic pieces and ta-dah!  Done!

Outfit of the Week: Hilight-er

Remember this post?  I finally got the chance to take these babies out for a spin!  Was at a loss at first because I really couldn't figure out what outfit to pair up with the wedge sneakers, so when I saw this top in Bleach Catastrophe, my mind went ding-ding-ding!  The entire outfit looks a bit too monochromatic so I added a pop of color with the bag.  How does it look?  A little bit rock and roll don't you think?  And soooo not me LOL.  But I wanted to try new stuff every now and then.  You know, veer away from the norm.  So there you go :)

Outfit of the Week: Flower Power

Had a lunch out at Antonio's Tagaytay during the year end.  Mom had warned us that it might get chilly, so it was time to break out the long sleeved top I bought just the day before.  When we got there, it wasn't that cold so I just rolled up the sleeves for a more casual feel.  Excuse the messy hair, the wind was not cooperating that day. LOL.  Notice the pearl necklace?  Yup, same ones I wore here.  What can I say?  I'm addicted to it!  The shoes were one of the results of a year-end shopping madness.  I swear, holidays are really bad for the pocket; it gives us the excuse to go malling when there's nothing to do!  Been wanting a metal-tip pair of shoes for quite some time now, and when I saw this pair at Forever 21, I immediately snapped it up!  Good thing it was a fresh delivery so they still had my size.  As for the bag, all I can say is that I absolutely love bags that make a statement.  This bag is actually called the Balenciaga Weekender, because it's supposed to be a bag to contain your essentials for a weekend trip.  In short, it's sort of a luggage!  Some friends/aunts were actually joking if I was able to fit the entire house, because it really is huge!  I don't really mind, because I looooove it!

Outfit of the Week: Paint Splattered

Ahh the fruits of the Mango sale.  I'm totally obsessed about this paint splattered dress.  It skims the body but doesn't make you look bulky.  What girl wouldn't want that right?  And the best part is, I got it on sale!  Wanted to wear flats but it just doesn't look right, so I went all out with the pearls and the clutch!  This is one of my favorite looks to date.  Do you like it?

Side note:  Did you notice the candy wrapper clutch?  Sorry it's not too visible here, but if you're familiar with the recent collaboration between H&M and Margiela, this is it!  The moment I saw the clutch from the lookbook, I knew I had to have it.  But how?  We still don't have an H&M store here.  No other means but to stalk Ebay.  There were hundreds of listings but some prices were crazy high and there's no way I'm paying for a faux leather clutch at the prices they were asking.  Finally found one with a reasonable mark-up and went in for the kill!  Was as giddy as a kid on Christmas day when I won the auction!  Ah the joys of Ebay (or Evilbay as some would call it, haha!).  Still wish one of the retail giants would bring in H&M here to our shores so that we don't have to rely on relatives/Ebay to get our H&M goodies!  Retail gods, please hear me out!

Outfit of the Week: Going Maxi

Maxi dresses and maxi skirts are definitely two of my favorite things to wear.  It's comfortable, it makes you look thinner, it looks chic and it's one of my go-to when I'm at a loss for an outfit to wear.  What's not to love, right?  You can pair this with anything or everything, be it cropped tops for a sexier vibe, or a simple button down/tshirt tucked into the skirt for a polished look.  Word of advice:  it's always better to tuck in your top (unless it's cropped) when wearing a maxi skirt, otherwise, it'll look sloppy.  So here I am wearing my black maxi skirt on a random Saturday shopping day.  Hope you like it! :)

Outfit of the Week: Futuristic Robot

Don't I look like one of those people from the future?  Hubby actually laughed out loud when he saw me in this outfit.  He said my skirt looked like one of those insulated lunch bags.  Grrr...

Got this skirt in H&M HongKong.  I had to suppress a squeal of delight when I saw it hanging in the racks, because metallic fabrics has always been my Achilles' heel.  That and beading, lace and sequins.  LOL.  As for the top... It's not seen in the picture but it has a metal tip collar and stud buttons.  Very rock and roll.
